Coach Basil Conner:Basil Conner has been involved with area volleyball for more than two decades. Basil has played doubles, triples, quads, and 6's for the last 25 years at RVVA and around the state. He also played USAV at various levels for 12 years. Basil served as an assistant coach at Salem HS for 12 years with Coach David Turk and at Roanoke College for two years. Basil has coached at Roanoke Valley Christian School's middle school, JV, and Varsity teams for eight years. Basil also has five years of experience coaching club teams with Roanoke Juniors, Roanoke United and NRV Volleyball Clubs.
Coach Russ Danstrom: Russ Danstrom began playing volleyball at age 17. He received his BA from University of Richmond in 1988 and his MBA from UNC in 1993. He played at Richmond Volleyball Club and RVVA in both 6's and doubles and played USVBA for 10 years as a Middle and Outside hitter. Russ has coached soccer, basketball and volleyball over the past 9 years. He has coached or assisted with U14-U18 juniors teams over years and coached at Salem High School for the past 5 seasons.
Coach Raleigh Brookshier:Raleigh Brookshier began playing volleyball in seventh grade. She played travel volleyball for five years and played for Glenvar Middle and High schools for six years. Raleigh is a sophomore at Virginia Tech studying to become a large-animal veterinarian. In addition to volleyball, she loves being outdoors and riding horses. This will be Raleigh's third year as an assistant coach for NRV. She loves working with the players and helping them enjoy all aspects of the game. She is so excited for the season and can't wait to see what it holds.

Coach Pierre Ellis:Pierre has been involved with Volleyball for 30 years as both a player and coach. He has coached with Next Revolution Volleyball for the last 12 seasons. He has coached a variety of age groups, and ran the Developmental League for 4 years. Pierre has been an assistant varsity coach and head JV coach at Salem, the varsity head coach at Roanoke Catholic, an assistant coach at Northside, and as an assistant coach to the HOV 17s National team.
Coach Samantha Wilkins: Sam has been playing volleyball for 15 years. She was a 4 year starter at Randolph College as a middle hitter. She is currently the head JV coach at Lord Botetourt high school and also assists with the basketball program. Last year in the 2017 season she helped assist both varsity teams to wins in the 3A state championships. This is her second year coaching for NRV.

Coach Kristen Pilarski:Kristen has been part of the NRV program for the last 3 seasons. Her primary focus is on strength training and conditioning for the team. She works up weekly programs for the girls to improve their core strength, vertical jump, endurance, and overall fitness level, using techniques from advanced training programs. She has been involved with overall fitness and conditioning for the better part of 20 years.
Coach Terri Craig: Coach Terri Craig is a long time coach with NRV. Her teams have won many tournaments over the years, including Gold at K2 Madness, Silver at Hi Neighbor, and numerous one day tournaments. Terri graduated from Northside High School in 1995, and was recognized as an All State setter and ranks #1 in assists in her career. She is a 2005 graduate of Ferrum College, where she majored in Parks Recreation and Leisure and played volleyball for the Panthers, where she ranks #1 in assists per game for her three-year career. Terri also played basketball for the Lady Panthers, who won the Dixie Conference in 2002. She has coached both junior varsity and varsity teams at several local high schools over the past 22 years. Terri took over the Head Volleyball Coach position at North Cross School in 2015 and led the Raiders to the state playoffs that same year. In 2016, the Raiders won both the regular season and Blue Ridge Conference titles for the first time since 1994, and placed 3rd in the VISAA state tournament. Her team placed 3rd again in the state tournament in 2017. She is excited return to coaching travel volleyball after taking a two years off.
Coach Jeff Osborne: Jeff has been actively playing in the RVVA for about 20 years, competing at all different levels, in 6's and doubles. In particular, he enjoys playing quads in the sand, when available. He has been a part of several RVVA championship level teams, winning quite a few t-shirts over the years! Jeff and his partner also earned the Silver Medal in doubles at the Commonwealth Games several years ago. His focus is on fundamentals, and on having fun!"

Coach Kris McCoy:Kris McCoy has been involved in volleyball for over 5 years as a coach for Next Revolution Volleyball. As an assistant coach for the 17's and 18's age groups he has been involved in several successful teams including a top 9 finish at The Capitol Hill Classic in 2015. Kris served as interim head coach in 2017 for the Next Revolution 17's team where he led them to a third place finish in the AAU Virginia Venom Volleyball tournament. This season Kris will serve as head coach of our 13's team with focus on basic skills, knowledge of the game and building players to have solid bases for later involvement in the sport. Kris is currently a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and attending the National convention in 2017 in Kansas City Missouri.
Coach Amanda McCoy: Amanda has been coaching volleyball for over 16 years. She was a member of William Byrd High School's Varsity volleyball team in 2000 that won the school's only VHSL State title to date. From 2008-2013 Amanda served as the Varsity head coach for William Byrd High School, her alma mater, leading the Terriers to three regional appearances, with many of her players receiving multiple district, regional and state honors. In 2013 she returned to Liberty High School as the head Varsity coach and faculty member, restoring the program's winning history while helping see the first all state player in the sport in over 7 years. Amanda currently is in her third years as head Varsity coach at Rockbridge County High School where in her second year led the "Cats" to the school's first and only Valley District tournament championship, Region C Championship and first VHSL State Quarterfinal appearance. She also became the 2017 Region C "Coach of the Year". Amanda is currently a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), Impact Certified through USAV and has served as a court coach for several HP Tryouts with the USAV Pipeline. In 2009 she was named "Coach of the Year" for NRV. Amanda has had the privilege to help guide 16 players on to the Division III and Division II levels.
Coach Amanda Hristov: Amanda has been playing volleyball for over 25 years. She was a four year varsity starter and a two year captain during her high school career at Islip High School in New York. She received All League and All County honors on several occasions, and was an All State soccer goalie as well. Amanda has played in the Roanoke Valley Volleyball Association, and served on the board for several of those years. She has also played on several USAV women’s teams. Amanda began as an assistant varsity coach at Roanoke Catholic and followed that as a varsity assistant at William Fleming and an assistant at Salem. She then spent three years at the Salem JV head coach, and is currently the Salem varsity head coach. This will be Amanda’s seventh year with Next Revolution Volleyball, and she is also a board member. She is really excited about the upcoming season!
Coach John Hristov: John has been an avid volleyball player for years. He has played for many teams in the Roanoke Valley Volleyball Association and served as a board member for several years. He has also played USAV and can often be found playing doubles tournaments during the summer. John has been coaching for the last few years, including serving as an assistant coach for William Fleming Varsity as well as several Next Revolution teams. Currently, he is an assistant coach with the Salem Varsity team and is looking forward to another great club season with NRV!
Coach Jon Stephenson: Jon has been playing volleyball in the Roanoke area of over 25 years. He has played sixes, quads and doubles with the Roanoke Valley Volleyball Association, and has also played USAV sixes. In 2014 he began as an assistant coach with Next Revolution Volleyball. He has help coached several different age groups and really enjoys seeing the players progress. This will be his 6th year coaching for NRV and he is excited to get this season underway.

Coach Aaron King:Aaron has played volleyball for many years; at Cave Spring High Boys Volleyball Club from '93-'95, VWCC Volleyball Team 1996, has been playing in the RVVA since 1993 and has played in USAV Adult Division of ODR. Aaron also has in-depth coaching experience. He was Assistant Coach at Lucy Addison in 1997, Head Coach at Roanoke Juniors, 14s-18s from 2000-2007, Assistant Coach at Hollins University in '03, Head JV Coach at Cave Spring High in '04, Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant at Hidden Valley High from '05 to 2010, Head Varsity Coach at Roanoke Catholic School from 2011 to 2014 where his team won three straight VISAA Div III State Titles in 2011, 2012, and 2013 and was 3rd in 2014, and has been the Head JV Coach at Glenvar High since 2016. Aaron has officiating experience as a VHSL volleyball official '95-2003 and at the collegiate level '00-'03. He also runs the Junior Doubles Outdoor Volleyball League in the spring each year and is a board member with the Roanoke Valley Volleyball Association. Aaron is IMPACT and CAP level certified. He has been a coach with NRV since '09 and is currently a board member for our club.

Coach Emily Gaston:Emily grew up in Hopkinton, MA and graduated from Roanoke College with a BA in Psychology in August 2013. Her love for volleyball was sparked at a 7th grade clinic and she hasn’t been able to get enough of it since! She played all 4 years in high school as an outside hitter, right side hitter, and defensive specialist/libero. During her high school years she also assisted at clinics, teaching girls the fundamentals of the game and hoping to ignite the same passion for the sport that she developed at their age. Emily played on a Massachusetts travel club team, SMASH Volleyball, which is one of the oldest Juniors Volleyball programs in New England. She now plays volleyball several times a week in the Roanoke Valley Volleyball Association. This is Emily's 5th year coaching with NRV. She also coaches at Roanoke Catholic School.
Coach Scott Kelley: Scott has been playing and/or coaching volleyball in the Roanoke area for over 20 years. During that time, he has played on several sixes and doubles teams with the Roanoke Valley Volleyball Association. Scott was an assistant coach at Roanoke College for two seasons and has coached at the 14s, 15s, and 16s levels with Next Revolution Volleyball since 2014. During the summer, he also helps at a variety of camps in the Roanoke area. Scott has been coaching at William Byrd since 2008, as the head middle school coach and assistant JV coach.
